We are finally ready to make a big leap in our tiny house project by having a trailer built! This is very exciting news for us. This custom trailer will be the foundation of our tiny house and we can’t wait to get started.
When we had last posted to the blog, we were still trying to raise funds to get the project started. In just a few weeks time we have managed to raise about 8k for the project. This is a great start and should be more than enough to get the trailer built and get us off the ground. We are still in awe at how much we raised in such a short period of time. We are so very thankful for all of the support we have received so far and the journey has barely started.
In our search for the perfect trailer we have reached out to several manufacturers and metal shops all over Oregon. One of the people we contacted has actually built the same trailer for the original designer of our tiny house. Since he has experience and knows the designer personally, we may end up going with him. We are still waiting to hear back from a few other shops first, but we hope to pick a vendor soon so we can get building as quickly as possible. It will take several weeks for the trailer to be built, but we hope it will be ready by Christmas.
Once we have the trailer, we can really get our hands dirty…
